Our Vision

Our vision at GLO is to empower members of our communities to live healthy, authentic lives.

At GLO, we value the safety of all who enter; education especially as it pertains to the history of queer and trans people of color, and compassion for ourselves and the communities we serve.

More About GLO

What is YAB?

GLO is a 5,000 sq. ft. space with a lounge area outfitted with a comfortable sofa and smart TV, a workstation for participants equipped with two desktop computers, a small dining area, and a kitchenette complete with a refrigerator, microwave, and toaster oven. We provide harm reduction lockers, a gender-neutral restroom, a built-in shower, free laundry facility, food and hygiene pantry, and a quiet space area - all of which are accessible to participants. Programming is offered weekly and ranges in topics from healthy relationships and holistic wellness to HIV/STI education, financial literacy, and much more.

The GLO Youth Advisory Board (YAB) is comprised of 10 dynamic queer men and trans women of color from the Harrisburg area ranging in age from 14 to 34. Following a youth-led model, YAB members meet monthly and offer thoughtful consideration of the ideal location, hours of operation, methods of engagement, and the types of programming that would best benefit their peers. These youth and young adult leaders also advise partner organizations on how best to serve their communities and proudly work to establish a safe, affirming space for queer LGBTQ+ youth of color.
